Preparing our students to make an informed career choice

Career Counselling is given for students by the Placement Cell, CTTE IAS Academy, Bank Exam Trainers and the respective Departments. The college has a fulltime Placement Officer who takes care of placement needs of the students. At the beginning of each academic year the Placement Cell offers an orientation to all students. An orientation program is conducted for all final year students so as to prepare them for the requirements of the corporate world. The Departments also arrange Career Guidance programme by experts to give awareness about the opportunities available in their field of study.

As per the University Regulations, Soft Skills was introduced in the year 2008 under the CBCS pattern as a mandatory course outside the core curriculum. Personality Enrichment, Life and Managerial Skills, French, German, Spoken English & English for Competitive Exams are offered at the UG & PG

To enable students to face confidently the aptitude test and technical round during their interview, the Department of Computer Application provides training for final year students. Making women civil service aspirants dream come true

C.T.T.E IAS Academy, earlier known as IAS study circle is the brainchild of our Managing Trustee and Correspondent of our institution, Thiru L Palamalai IAS (Retd.). The objective of the academy is to impart training to women civil service aspirants and enable them to appear for the civil service exams. The management offers free coaching classes for our students as well as women candidates from outside. Eminent resource persons train the students onall Saturdays and Sundays.

Bridge Courses

Filling the knowledge gap between school & college curriculum

Bridge course is conducted for first year students soon after the Student Induction Programme. This is done to bridge the gap between school and college curriculum. The course is planned for a period of 6 days. The module is decentralized and is designed by the departments.

Language Skill Labs

Software assisted language skill development

A major hurdle for the students is the English language. The college addresses this issue with the help of a language lab with 31 computers which have been enabled with Renet software which provides an interactive platform for improving study skills, soft skills, English grammar & English pronunciation. Each student is given the computer for 3-4 hours per month on a rotation basis for the first two years of all Under Graduate Course. This exposure to computers also helps students who do not have computers at home to become familiar with it.

The college felt it to be the need of the hour to include yoga in the extracurricular activities so that it would help the students to become physically and emotionally strong. Free Yoga classes are offered once a week to interested students by a qualified trainer both at the basic and advanced levels through certificate courses.
