Department Grievances Redressal Committee (DGRC)

Aim:

To effectively address and resolve grievances of students within the respective academic departments of the college.

Composition of Committee:

Where the complaint needs intervention from the academic department, as the case may be, the grievance can be addressed by the DGRC, constituted with the following composition, namely:

  • Chairperson
    • Head of the Department
  • Members
    • Vice Principal – Dr.P.J.Queency Asha Dhas, Assistant Professor in Corporate Secretaryship
    • Dean of Students – Mrs. N. Anuradha, Head & Assistant Professor in Chemistry
  • Student Representative
    • Student Council Member (Department)

Procedure:

  • The aggrieved student can send  in writing, her grievance to the grievance mail ID [email protected]
  • On receiving the complaint it shall be redressed within 7 days
  • The DGRC, as the case may be, shall fix a date to hear the complaint and the same shall be communicated to the aggrieved
  • A detailed report will be submitted to the competent authority of the institution for suitable action
  • The outcome will be communicated to the complainant
  • If unsatisfied the grievance can be taken to the CSGRC

College Grievances Redressal Committee [CSGRC]

Aim:

To effectively address and resolve grievances of students.

Composition of Committee:

Where the complaint needs intervention outside any academic department, as the case may be, the matter shall be referred to the CSRGC, constituted by the Principal, with the following composition, namely:

  • Chairperson
    • Principal – Dr. S. Sridevi, Professor of English
  • Members
    • Vice Principal – Dr.P.J.Queency Asha Dhas, Assistant Professor in Corporate Secretaryship
    • Dean of Students – Mrs. N. Anuradha, Head & Assistant Professor in Chemistry
    • Dean of Academics – Dr. T. Ramya, Head, Department of Physics
    • Dr. S. Shantha Bai, Assistant Professor in Commerce
  • Student Representative
    • Student Council President

Procedure:

  • The aggrieved student can send in writing, her grievance  to [email protected] OR Drop a written letter in the Green Box placed in Dr. Elizabeth Thomas Block
  • On receiving the complaint it shall be redressed within 15 days
  • The CSGRC, as the case may be, shall fix a date to hear the complaint and the same shall be communicated to the aggrieved
  • A detailed report will be submitted to the competent authority of the institution for suitable action
  • The outcome will be communicated to the complainant

Equal Opportunity Cell

Anti Discrimination Officer - Dean of Students

Mrs. N. Anuradha, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry

Objectives:

  • To oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for disadvantaged groups ( as applicable to the institution)
  • Prevention of Caste Based Discrimination in the campus
  • to provide guidance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters and to enhance the diversity within the campus.

Functions:

  • To safeguard the interests of the staff/students without any prejudice to their caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender and disability
  • Eliminate discrimination against or harassment of any staff/student in all forms
  • To provide preventive and protective measures to facilitate eradication and punishments for those who indulge in any form of discrimination or harassment.
  • To promote equality among staff/students of all sections of the society

Procedure:

  • Grievances to be sent in writing to [email protected] which will be acknowledged
  • The same will be referred to the Anti Discrimination Officer who shall initiate the follow-up action
  • A written reply will be sent on details of follow-up action
  • An enquiry will be conducted and a detailed report will be submitted to the competent authority of the institution for suitable action
  • The outcome will be communicated to the complainant

*The Grievances Redressal Committee shall also function as the Equal Opportunity Cell here-in-after and the Convener of the Grievance Redressal Committee was nominated as Anti Discrimination Officer under Equal Opportunity Cell.
