The Placement Cell of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women continues to play a pivotal role in preparing students for successful careers by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The year 2024–2025 was marked by a series of structured initiatives, training programmes, placement drives, industry collaborations, and faculty development opportunities. These activities collectively demonstrate the College’s commitment to enhancing employability, fostering professional ethics, and promoting holistic student growth.
The academic year commenced with a month-long Intensive Placement Training Programme for all final-year students. Conducted between 24 June and 25 July 2024, the training focused on a combination of technical skills, aptitude development, interview preparation, and soft skills. By emphasising both knowledge and confidence-building, the programme laid a strong foundation for career readiness.
Parents were also engaged through a Placement Briefing Meeting on 24 June 2024. This initiative ensured that families were well-informed of placement opportunities and the role of training in supporting student employability.
Focus areas: Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) and Front Office Operations. Fifty students participated, receiving certifications and placement opportunities.
A 100-hour training programme in BFSI, with 100 students. The initiative provided a blend of conceptual learning and hands-on training, directly aligned with corporate expectations.
These CSR-driven efforts exemplify the College’s commitment to accessible, industry-relevant training.
These sessions reinforced the principle that employability is not limited to technical skills but also includes ethics, communication, and personal development.
These engagements enhanced the capacity of faculty members to guide students in critical thinking, creativity, and workplace adaptability.
These participations positioned the College as an institution aligned with global education trends.
These drives reflect the diversity of opportunities available to students across IT, BFSI, retail, logistics, and development sectors.
These initiatives demonstrate a broad-based approach to career readiness, ranging from global higher education pathways to sector-specific training.
Faculty members also benefited from continuous professional development through ICT Academy FDPs and industry-aligned programmes, equipping them to mentor students with relevant skills. This holistic approach ensures that employability training is institutionalised, not isolated.
The Placement Cell’s work in 2024–2025 demonstrates the College’s enduring commitment to student success. By integrating CSR partnerships, industry collaborations, academic development, and holistic student training, the College has positioned itself as a hub of career readiness and intellectual growth.
The year’s achievements are not limited to the number of placements but extend to building resilience, ethical orientation, and global outlook among students. Moving forward, the College aims to expand its partnerships, scale participation in training, and continue its dual emphasis on timeless academic knowledge and adaptable professional skills.
