Experiential Learning through Environmental Studies: BBA Students Visit Farm Guru
As part of the Environmental Studies programme, the Department of Business Administration, in association with CFSD-EDC & IIC, organised an educational visit to ‘Farm Guru’, a centre for sustainable agriculture, on 20th September 2026. The initiative aimed to provide students of II BBA with practical exposure to eco-friendly farming methods and rural sustainability practices.
The visit focused on the principles and practices of organic farming. Subject experts at ‘Farm Guru’ introduced students to natural methods of cultivation, composting, and eco-friendly pest management techniques. Through interactive sessions, students gained awareness of the environmental, nutritional, and economic benefits of sustainable agriculture.
A highlight of the programme was the hands-on pot-making workshop, which promoted traditional craftsmanship while reinforcing themes of sustainability and rural livelihood. Students also participated in agricultural activities such as seed sowing, plant watering, and learning about various irrigation systems. These activities offered a tangible understanding of farming cycles and the environmental impact of agricultural choices.
Organisers underscored the critical role of organic farming in preserving soil fertility, ensuring food safety, and promoting environmental conservation. The field visit encouraged students to critically reflect on the ecological implications of modern food systems and the significance of farmers in maintaining environmental balance.
