Dr. Hanifa Ghosh, a passionate teacher, able administrator and an erudite scholar, has rendered more than three decades of service to the institution in various capacities. Through her meticulous reading, meticulous planning and putting up countless hours of hard work, she has emerged as a top leader and a mentor.

Dr. Hanifa Ghosh joined this institution in the year 1986 as a Lecturer in English. She spent long hours in reading, analysing and making study notes meticulously and advocated the practice of  research to teach. She used to give well researched introductions to the subjects she teaches and links them with other subjects or papers of various domains, and in turn promoted interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary learning. Under the Headship of Dr. Hanifa Ghosh the Department of English grew from an Undergraduate department to a Postgraduate and Research department.

Dr. Hanifa Ghosh took charge as Principal-in-charge in 2006 and became the Principal in 2007. She served in this capacity for more than a decade and is the longest serving Principal till now. She has many accomplishments to her credit as a Principal. Under her leadership, the college grew leaps and bounds.
