NEP which is referred to as the National Education Policy 2020 is a guiding document for both the Centre and the States. It helps policymakers and educators shape their educational views. To highlight the advantages and clarify misconceptions about NEP 2020, a Webinar on National Education Policy 2020 was organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth (CTTE) College for Women, Chennai, on August 26, 2020, through the online platform Zoom and YouTube Live.
Resource person for the Webinar was Mr. M. Sathya Kumar LLB, ACA, ACMA, CS, the CEO and founder of Tycoon Academy, Chennai. He is the recipient of the prestigious National Youth Icon Award and Change Maker Award. He is an accomplished entrepreneur, public speaker, mentor, and ardent follower of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama.
Dr. Queency Asha Dhas, IQAC Coordinator, welcomed the gathering. Being an ardent follower of Swami Vivekananda, Mr. Sathya Kumar highlighted the contribution of Indian leaders to the development of modern education in India. He described the highlights of NEP 2020 in a lively manner and stated that the proposed changes would be implemented in a few years. He remarked that a lot of support and cooperation from individuals and institutions could make NEP 2020 a reality and success in the forthcoming years.
During the Question & Answer session, the resource person clarified all the queries of the participants. A feedback link was shared with the participants. The event ended with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. J. Jaya Parveen, Asst. Professor (English), CTTE College for Women. 311 participants registered for the Webinar, and 214 participants received e- certificates.
