Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women has well maintained infrastructure that continues to meet and exceed our student needs and expectations. In the last three decades our institution has expanded to accommodate the growing number of students, and continuous infrastructure development is an important part in keeping up with that growth.
The present state of art ‘Maryland library‘ in Dr. Elizabeth Thomas Block was inaugurated on 16th June 2016 by Mr.R. Venkatesan, I.A.S and has a collection of more than 27219 documents comprising of books, theses, audio-visual materials, bound back volumes of journals & magazines to meet user needs.
The total area of the Library building is about 5206 sq.ft. It accommodates Stack, Periodicals, OPAC (4 systems), PG & Research Section (1 System), Circulation (3 Systems), E-Resource Centre (11 Systems) and Reprography. 5 cameras are placed at strategic points in the library for surveillance and 4 Fire Extinguishers are provided.
T.Thomas Auditorium: A centrally air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of around 500 is part of our infrastructure. The Auditorium hosts various academic and cultural events of the college. The auditorium is equipped with good acoustics.
Justice J.Kanakaraj Auditorium: The new auditorium with centralized air-conditioning and a mezzanine floor was inaugurated by our Managing Trustee and Correspondent, Thiru. L. Palamalai I.A.S.(Retd) on November 23,2017. It has a total carpet area of 3800 square feet and can comfortably seat 700 people. The auditorium has been equipped with an LCD projector also.
Seminar halls & conference halls with LCD projectors are used for conducting workshops, Symposium paper presentation and meetings. Each department has a dedicated Smartboard classroom as well.
Our College canteen serves breakfast, lunch & light refreshments, with separate dining area for staff & students. Food is served with quality on par with home cooked food, at a student friendly price.
Korner Kafe is our cafeteria serving quality snacks & hot beverages, it also features student run outlets as part of the ED Cell, and is a popular hangout spot in the college.
Our College has a well maintained playground, along with our main sports facility & gymnasium.
In addition to that, we also have dedicated Sports Annex. The Annex building is about 2 kms from the main campus, and college bus provides transportation to the facility. It is equipped with high jump training setup and an Indoor stadium with wooden flooring for Badminton/Shuttle practice.
The college has excellent infrastructure, well equipped labs & qualified lab assistants in addition to subject staff.
As per standards, we have the following labs to fulfil academic requirements of courses offered.
A major hurdle for the students is the English language. The college addresses this issue with the help of a language lab with 31 computers which have been enabled with Renet software which provides an interactive platform for improving study skills, soft skills, English grammar and English pronunciation. Each student is given the computer for 3-4 hours per month on a rotation basis for the first two years of all Under Graduate Course.
This exposure to computers also helps students who do not have computers at home to become familiar with the use of computers. The PG students are given free internet and can use the lab from 09.00a.m to 04.00p.m. They can take printouts and photocopies at a very nominal rate.

CTTEWC has amenities that make daily life easier for students with disabilities. All the classrooms are accessible by Lift and staircases with hand railings. Pathway to main block and other areas has additional ramps for ease of access, we also have wheelchairs available for student’s use.

G Suite for Education was implemented in 2018 at CTTEWC long before the pandemic, as a step forward in innovatively engaging with an increasingly tech savvy student community.
CTTEWC has been granted a lifetime license of G Suite for Education, formerly known as GAFE – Google Apps For Education. G Suite is a cloud based digital ecosystem for delivering education to students, it consists of a plethora of applications that change the way students and teachers interact & learn.
G Suite for education at CTTEWC is accessible only by students & teachers of our college with a specific domain mail ID assigned after admission. With an additional IT support team & G Suite committee, we ensure smooth onboarding of students into the platform, irrespective of their tech background.
The primary app of this ecosystem is Google Classroom a virtual classroom for sharing content, assignments & evaluation of assignments. Integrated with our classroom, Google Meet serves as our primary tool for live tutoring & safe engagement.
We believe exposing all our students to formal usage of latest cloud based technology, early on in their lives, gives them confidence & edge in a competitive world.
Our college is equipped with centralised cloud based ERP for effectively managing administrative tasks of our institution. Both enrolled students and college faculty have access to our ERP portal, and can perform many day to day tasks from the ease of a computer.
Accessing through their secure college identity, Our Student’s have one stop access to their attendance records, fee details, academic reports, transfer certificate and many other information.
E- Resources lab for online learning resources and skill development equipped with High speed internet, Printing, Scanning & photocopy facilities.Resource lab, is used extensively by research & postgraduate students and also graduate students for their projects.

Google Sites – Each department, Club & development cell hosts an official microsite from our G Suite platform. Managed by heads of the department, moderated by students, this initiative offers freedom, responsibility, accountability & ownership of their department activities & contributions.
