The name of the college holds the legacy of the founder of the Trust, late Chevalier T. Thomas and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Thomas who founded the college after his demise. The college is popularly known as C.T.T.E College for Women (CTTEWC). Guided by the motto, “Domine, Illumina Me”, the institution is dedicated to quality assurance in education for women. Strategically located in the heart of North Chennai, CTTEWC boasts of a serene campus with access to various public transportation modes, including a forthcoming Metro rail station.
Chevalier T.Thomas Elizabeth (College Code: 1351) is the first self-financing college to be affiliated to the University of Madras.(www.unom.ac.in). The college is accredited with an ’A’ grade (Certificate) in the second cycle NAAC Assessment.
Since its inception the institution has been serving the cause of quality education for women and providing access for empowerment to thousands of women from the feeder areas of North Chennai and uplifted their lives.
