Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign at CTTE College

Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women (CTTE College), Perambur, is committed to nurturing not only academic excellence but also socially responsible citizens. As part of this vision, the Anti-Human Trafficking Club, in collaboration with the Department of English (B.A. English), has launched a powerful Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign.

This student-driven initiative empowers young women to recognize, resist, and report human trafficking, while promoting a safe, informed, and vigilant campus culture.

Campaign Objectives

  • Raise Awareness: Educate students about the realities, tactics, and dangers of human trafficking.
  • Empower Young Women: Provide knowledge about legal protections, safety protocols, and available helplines and resources.
  • Promote Critical Thinking Through Reading: Encourage reading and discussions to build global and social awareness.
  • Foster a Culture of Vigilance and Empathy: Create a campus environment rooted in alertness, compassion, and collaboration.

Why This Campaign Matters

Human trafficking remains one of the most pressing global human rights violations. By initiating awareness at the grassroots level, CTTE College aims to build a generation of women who are alert, informed, and resilient—capable of protecting themselves and others from exploitation.

The campaign delivers impactful messages on legal rights, safety strategies, and support systems, while reinforcing the importance of collective action in preventing such crimes.

Student Participation and Community Engagement

  • Interactive sessions with legal and social experts
  • Poster exhibitions and slogan drives
  • Skits, debates, and public readings themed on anti-trafficking awareness
  • Distribution of multilingual handouts to reach broader audiences
  • Peer education sessions across departments and in local communities

These efforts reflect the College’s commitment to student leadership, participative learning, and community outreach.

Campus Impact: Awareness as a First Step to Prevention

By equipping students with critical knowledge and encouraging open dialogue, the campaign lays the foundation for a more informed, safe, and supportive campus environment. It reflects the College’s holistic approach to education—one that extends beyond the classroom into the real-life challenges faced by women and society.

“Together, we can build a safer world for every girl.”
CTTE students believe that awareness is the first step to prevention—and that change begins with them.
