About the Speaker:
Dr. V. Rajasekaran is an Assistant Professor, Senior in the Division of English, VIT University-Chennai Campus. He is skilled in areas like English as a Second Language (ESL), E-Learning, Lecturing, Educational Technology, and Instructional Design.
Summary of the Lecture:
Dr. Rajasekaran traced the concept of Research and encouraged the students to think out of the box. Simple questioning is also research he stressed. From there, the researcher has to develop the magnitude of the questions and read and amass knowledge, he said. Dr. Rajasekaran made the session interactive by asking the students from the audience to ask him questions and used them to demonstrate the nuances of research.
The PG students, advanced learners from the UG classes and the MPhil research scholars were the recipients of this knowledge sharing session.

Mr. R Venkatesan clearly explained about Intellectual Property Rights – (IPRs) are legal rights that protect creations and/or inventions resulting from intellectual activity in the industrial, scientific, literary or artistic fields. And stated many examples to make the students clear about the IPR. He also explained how to indicate a trademark: Registered / unregistered application pending – ™ Only when registered – And also explained the examples of different goods like agricultural goods and natural goods and manufactured goods and more.

The students of MSW, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women have conducted a workshop on “Research Methodology”. The resource person Dr Binu Sahayam conducted the seminar through powerpoint presentation about tools and data collection, questionnaire, interview schedule, observation, case study and Data code. She conducted group activities for students by putting them into 5 groups. She gave the research topic “A comparative study on the effectiveness of online or offline classes. Each group was asked to prepare 10 questions and made them circulate the questions to the remaining groups. Finally, the resource person clarified students’ doubts and taught them to calculate percentage for the research. At last, the badging ceremony of SAWE office bearers and association members was conducted and group photos were taken.
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) of our CTTE College for Women conducted a seminar on the topic, “General Women’s Health” in collaboration with Prashanth Hospital, Kolathur, and with the help of YRC Faculty Coordinator, Dr P Anitha and YRC Student Coordinator, D. Teena. The session started with a welcome speech by M. Mubeen Taj (III B.A. English) and Razina Nilofar M I (III B.A. English) sang the YRC prayer song.
Then the guest speaker Dr. Abrajda took over the session. She taught self-hygiene for women and also gave a detailed explanation of menstrual problems through her presentation. Dr. Abrajda cleared the doubts of the audience. Nearly 100 students participated in the session. At last, the session ended with a vote of thanks by S. Jabin Taj (III B.A. English).
Key Highlights: The resource person explained the importance of product design and about its objectives. Product and services design is based on the customer feedback and requirements of the markets. And she illustrated the webinar theme by presenting the activities of her college. She explained the 11 steps of process design for potato chips. And most importantly, she explained the beneficiaries of different funds and schemes like, Needs and Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP).

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan club organized a webinar on 19th January 2022 on the topic “Fostering Rural Development – A commitment of HEIs beyond campus.”. Dr. R. Kavitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, was the guest speaker for the day who spoke on how a student can take part in rural development programs.
There were 70 online participants.
Our college ‘Citizen Consumer Club’ organized an international webinar on the topic ‘Awakening the Youth Power’ to commemorate National Youth Day 2022. The chief guest of the webinar Mr. Kumaraselvam Arumugam, Poet and Social Activist Sydney in Australia, gave an enthusiastic speech about the importance of the Tamil language and its powers. The Students of the club had a very interactive session with the chief guest and also were able to learn a lot of Tamil riddles that were discovered by the chief guest. All the students learned a lot of knowledge on Tamil poems and their poets. The program was under the guidance of the faculty coordinator Dr. J. Valli, Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil. Forty students participated in the webinar.

The guest speaker was Mrs. Alima Zehra founder, of psywell psychological support services joined us and presented a lot of information on the topic. The welcome speech was given by Keerthika of ll B. Sc (cs). After the welcome speech, the program was handed over to the guest speaker. The guest speaker talks about how mental health is important, how we handle mental stress, the importance of self-care and she gave a lot of tips about how to solve problems and etc. It contains more information for the students.

Report:
Day 1- Mrs.P.Amalthi started the session emphasising the need of creative thinking for a researcher. The core points to be remembered while selecting a research topic, performing literature survey, working on a project and compiling the results were discussed. A brief knowledge about journal paper, short communications, book chapters, patents and review articles were imparted. Hands on training to extract information from a journal paper was given. 12 students from science stream participated in the workshop.
Day 2- Dr.P.Malarvizhi gave guidelines to students in designing a research work, its process and completion. She emphazised on the preparation of research articles and how to go for publication in reputed journals. 15 students from arts stream participated in the workshop.

On 29th september 2021 CTTE NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME organized a webinar on POSHAAN ABHIYAAN. This campaign was organized for the students to get benefited about this webinar. Our college organized a webinar on the topic ‘Consumer Laws’ which was held on 18th August 2021. Mrs. S. Our college ‘Citizen Consumer Club’ in collaboration with FEDCOT India organized a webinar on 22nd July 2021 through Google Meet. Mr. M. Selvaraj, Chairman FEDCOT India, and retired Defence Civilian Officer; Government of India was the chief guest for the webinar. The speaker of the webinar spoke about common Consumer Rights and his/her duties. He shared all his past experiences and the circumstances that he had come across and also answered all the queries of students. There were forty-five students who participated in the webinar. Dr. J. Valli, faculty Coordinator and P. K. Jaishree of II B.Com G welcomed the gathering. B. Rakshana of II B.Com A&F delivered the vote of thanks.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of our college in collaboration with IEDP – EDII Hub, University of Madras, jointly organized a webinar on the topic “Design Thinking” on 19th June 2021.
The Resource person of the programme was Mr. Vinoth Malaikani, Incubation Scientist, University College of Engineering, BIT Campus, Anna University, Trichy. He explained the meaning of Design Thinking, detailed its concepts with a lively presentation and made all the tortuous process, very lucid to learn.
He construed the 5 stages of Design Thinking, i.e Empathy, Define, Ideation and its techniques, Prototype and Testing. He also made the participants go through some case studies and gave them practical exposure. At the end of the session, he gave some tasks for the students to practice so that they can get more insight into Design Thinking. It was an interactive session with participants clearing their doubts and queries with the resource person. The participants felt that the session was great for them to understand Design Thinking and its techniques, that gave them enough confidence to bloom their Startups.

R., Assistant Professor, Psychologist, and Co-founder of the Soul Space Counselling Services was the chief guest for the webinar. The speaker of the webinar spoke about the facts and importance of Covid vaccine and gave solutions for how to answer Covid psychic patients. She also answered all the queries of the students. There were forty students who participated in the webinar. Dr. J. Valli, Faculty Coordinator and K. Rajakaleeshwari of III B.Com G Welcomed the Gathering. J. Uma Maheshwari of III B.Com G. gave a vote of thanks.
National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) jointly organised a Webinar on NEED OF THE HOUR! COVID VACCINATION on 5th June 2021. Dr.S.Rajeswari, Gynaecologist, Consultant Obstetrician, Preventive oncologist and Colposcopy Specialist and Dr. D. Prasanna, DNB Medicine, MD Microbiology, Consultant Physician, Consultant Microbiologist, Trichy Govt Medical College, were the resource persons for the event. The doctors clearly explained the importance of taking COVID 19 Vaccine now, through various examples, the number of vaccines available in our country, also stressed the point that it reduces mortality rates, and requested all the volunteers and other participants to take the available vaccine, and not to go by brands. The participants raised their doubts on getting vaccinated, promised to get vaccinated and motivate others to get vaccinated. Nearly 70 participants benefitted out of this programme.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of CTTE College for Women in collaboration with the ICT Academy organized an“Aspiring Entrepreneurship Programme” on 04th June 2021. This was an introductory webinar for the students who enrolled themselves for Phase I. It was a 4-hour program, divided into 4 sessions, and expert personalities were invited to give an entrepreneurial cum motivational talk to the students.
Session 01: -MR. SUNIL BORAH
Mr. Sunil Borah, the Senior Trainer of the ICT Academy, was the first person on board. He welcomed the batch of students who sprightly enrolled themselves for the programme. He introduced the audience, to the ICT Academy and its operations and then expressed his gratitude for all the Sponsors of the programme. He then briefly explained the Course’s objective, its stages and the outcome after each level. He concluded his speech by spelling out all the benefits that the students will reap, after finishing the entire course.
Session 02: – V PATTABHI RAM
Mr. V.Pattabhiram, CA, Author and Teacher at Prime Academy, began the session. He took the audience through the meaning of Entrepreneurship and its Types. The most interesting part of his session was, he explained the salient qualities of an entrepreneur by showing pictures of various successful Entrepreneurs. He asked the students to guess and then revealed the Entrepreneur and what qualities he possesses that should be learnt and applied by every to be Entrepreneur. He then replied to the questions of the students and also shared his personal experiences with them. Overall, his session was like an incredible 1st chapter towards learning Entrepreneurship.
Session 03: – MR.RAJ PRABAKAR
Mr. Raj Prabakar, Chief Executive Officer, FYMC was the next person on board. His session was the next level of the previous session. He brought in and expounded more about the Application of the Idea and the Beginning of the Business. His session was concerned with How to Move the idea forward, how to consolidate the required resources, how to manage Human Resources, How to Overhaul and Re-Equip the existing business to make it survive the changing environment and so on. After his presentation, he asked the audience to share with him the Business Ideas that are inside them and suggested inputs to make it prosper. Overall, it was a session of Deep Introspection of our Business Ideas.
Session 04: – DR R. SUBRAMANIAN
Dr. R.Subramanian, Founder and CEO of MindBiz was the final expert of this Phase I. He briefly explained to the audience about “START-UP INDIA”. The objective was to inform the students about various opportunities available, epically for the procurement of Finance, under this Scheme, proposed by the Government of India. He also showed trending business startup ideas and was encircled through the various options of fund management. This session was a higher-level learning towards beginning a business and choices of Financial Availabilities.
STUDENT’S PERSPECTIVE
The students felt it was a great opportunity for all of them to get to know about Entrepreneurship and Startups from scratch to the higher-level advanced concepts. They felt the session was comprehensive and packed with all the essential concepts and the knowledge that should be known and understood by all the becoming entrepreneurs. They felt, the session also made them realise their ideas and served them to become future leaders.
