செவாலியர் டி. தாமஸ் எலிசபெத் மகளிர் கல்லூரி, தமிழ்நாட்டின் முதல் பெண்கள் சுயநிதிக் கல்லூரி ஆகும். 1964-இல் செவாலியர் திரு. டி. தாமஸ் அவர்களால் புனிதமேரி கல்வி நிலையங்கள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு ஆல்போல் தழைத்து வளர்ந்தன. இவ்வளர்ச்சி நிலையின் ஒரு கட்டமாக 1985 இல் திருமதி. எலிசபெத் தாமஸ் அம்மையாரால் எம் கல்லூரி நிறுவப்பட்டு, கடந்த 41 ஆண்டுகளாகச் சிறப்பாகச் செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றது. சி.டி.டி. கல்வி அறக்கட்டளை 2002 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டு வரை சென்னை, உயர்நீதி மன்ற மேனாள் நீதியரசர் உயர்திரு. ஜே. கனகராஜ் அவர்களைத் தலைவராகவும், உயர்திரு இல. பழமலை இ.ஆ.ப.ஓய்வு அவர்களைச் செயலாளர் மற்றும் தாளாளராகவும் கொண்டு திறம்பட இயங்கி வந்தது. தற்போது சென்னை உயர்நீதி மன்ற மேனாள் நீதியரசர் உயர்திரு. பி. கோகுல்தாஸ் அவர்கள் அறக்கட்டளையின் தலைவராகப் பொறுப்பேற்றுச் சிறப்புற செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றார்கள். எமது கல்லூரி சென்னைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் உறுப்புக் கல்லூரியாக இணைவு பெற்று இளம் அறிவியல், இளங்கலை, முதுகலை பட்டப்படிப்புகளை வழங்கி வருகின்றது. 2500 – க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவியர் பயிலும் எம் கல்லூரி NAAC – தேசியத் தர மற்றும் மதிப்பீடு ஆணையத்தின் இரண்டாம் சுழற்சியில் ‘A’ தரச்சான்று வழங்கப் பெற்றுச் சென்னை மாவட்டத்தின் தனித்துவமிக்க பெண்கள் கல்லூரியாகத் திகழ்கின்றது. எமது கல்லூரி கல்வி மற்றும் ஆய்வுப் பணிகளில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் அனுபவமிக்க பேராசிரியர்களைத் தன்னகத்தே கொண்டு செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றது. மாணவர்கள் அறிவு சார்ந்த தேடலை அணுக வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்துடன் ஆண்டுதோறும் கல்லூரியில் துறைசார்ந்த பன்னாட்டுக் கருத்தரங்குகள் நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. அவ்வகையில் எங்கள் செவாலியர் டி. தாமஸ் எலிசபெத் மகளிர் கல்லூரி மற்றும் பெரம்பூர் ரேவதி ஹோம் நீட்ஸ் இணைந்து நடத்தும் ‘ வடசென்னை பொருளாதாரம் என்ற தலைப்பிலான பன்னாட்டுக் கருத்தரங்கு 23-10-2026 அன்று கல்லூரி வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற இருக்கின்றது.

கருத்தரங்கின் நோக்கம்

வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புமிக்க வடசென்னை, தொழிற்சாலைகள், துறைமுகம், மின்நிலையங்கள் மற்றும் பல்வேறு உற்பத்தி நிறுவனங்களின் மையமாக விளங்கி வருகிறது. வடசென்னை தமிழ்நாட்டின் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சிக்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்களிப்பை வழங்கி வருகிறது. ‘வடசென்னை பொருளாதாரம்’ என்ற தலைப்பிலான இக்கருத்தரங்கின் முக்கிய நோக்கம், வடசென்னையின் தொடக்கக் காலப் பொருளாதார நிலை, இன்றையப் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சி, தொழில்துறை முன்னேற்றம், வணிகச் சூழல், துறைமுகம் சார்ந்த பொருளாதாரப் பங்களிப்புகள், சிறு, குறு மற்றும் நடுத்தரத் தொழில்களின் நிலை, மீனவர் சமூகத்தின் வாழ்வாதாரம் மற்றும் நவீன தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சிகளால் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பொருளாதாரப் பின்னடைவுகளும் மாற்றங்களும் ஆகியவற்றை ஆராய்ந்து ஆவணப்படுத்துவதாகும். இக்கருத்தரங்கு, வடசென்னையின் பொருளாதார நிலையை அறிந்து கொள்வதற்கும் எதிர்காலத்தில் வடசென்னையின் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சிக்கான புதிய அணுகுமுறைகள், அரசின் திட்டங்கள், தொழில்முனைவோர் பெருக்கம் ஆகியன உருவாவதற்கும் வழிவகுக்கும்.

North Chennai, with its rich history, has emerged as a central hub for industries, ports, power stations, and various manufacturing enterprises. It significantly contributes to the economic growth of Tamil Nadu.

கட்டுரைகள் தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலம் இருமொழிகளிலும் வரவேற்கப்படுகின்றன.
ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரை ஆய்வாளரின் சொந்த முயற்சியில் அமைந்ததாய் இருத்தல் வேண்டும். வேறெந்த ஊடகங்களிலோ அல்லது கருத்தரங்குகளிலோ வெளிவராததாய் இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
கட்டுரை தலைப்பின் கீழ் கட்டுரையாளரின் பெயர், பணி, முகவரி, அலைபேசி எண், மின்னஞ்சல் முகவரி ஆகியவை சரியான முறையில் பிழைகள் இன்றி இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரைகள் தட்டச்சு செய்யப்பட்டு சொற்கோப்பில் (Word Format) A4 தாளில் 12 புள்ளி அளவில் 1.5 அளவு வரி இடைவெளியுடனும் யூனிகோடு எழுத்துருவில் 8 பக்கங்களுக்கு மிகாமல் இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
ஆங்கிலக் கட்டுரைகள் Times New Roman எழுத்துருவிலும் சொற்கோப்பிலும் (Word Format) 8 பக்கங்களுக்கு மிகாமல் இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
கட்டுரையில் முன்னுரை, உள்தலைப்புகள், துணை நூற்பட்டியல் ஆகியவை தெளிவாக இடம் பெறல் வேண்டும்.
கட்டுரை கள ஆய்வு(Field work) தரவுகளாக இருப்பின், தகவல்களைத் தங்களோடு பகிர்ந்தவரின் பெயர், பணி, முகவரி, அலைபேசி எண் ஆகியவற்றைக் கட்டுரையின் கடைசிப் பக்கத்தில் தெளிவாகக் குறிப்பிட வேண்டும்.
ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளுக்குப் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் நூல்கள், ஆய்விதழ்கள் மற்றும் பிற தரவுகள் துணைநூற்பட்டியலில் சரியான முறையில் அகர வரிசையில் அமைந்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகள் பிழையின்றி நுட்பமானவையாகச் சரிசெய்யப்பட்டு அனுப்புதல் வேண்டும்.

Guidelines for Article Submission

Articles are welcome in both Tamil and English.
The research paper must be the original work of the author and should not have been published or presented elsewhere in any medium or conference.
Below the article title, the author’s name, designation, address, phone number, and email ID must be mentioned clearly without any errors.
Research papers must be typed in Word format using Times New Roman font in 12-point font size with 1.5 line spacing, and should not exceed 8 pages. Tamil articles must be typed in Unicode font.
If the article is based on fieldwork, details of the individuals who shared the information—such as their name, designation, address, and phone number—must be clearly mentioned on the last page of the article.
All books, journals, and other sources used in the article must be listed in the bibliography in proper alphabetical order.
Articles must be edited and submitted error-free.
The conference committee reserves the right to edit or condense the submitted articles.
Selected research papers, chosen by experts, will be evaluated and published as a research volume with an ISBN number.
Last date for submission: 30-09-2025
Authors must attach proof of registration fee payment along with the article.

Following the success of our inaugural conference on **Education that shaped North Madras** and the second edition exploring **Industries that contributed to the region’s development**, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women (CTTE) proudly continues its endeavour to document and understand the **economic transformation of North Chennai**.

This initiative is conceived as a four-part scholarly exploration, with each conference examining a key dimension of the region’s development. The present conference places **Economics at the centre of inquiry**, examining the forces that have shaped North Chennai’s economy and its evolving role in the wider economic landscape of Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

The conference will explore **trade and commerce, employment and labour markets, entrepreneurship, income generation, economic mobility, infrastructure-led growth, local markets, and the influence of public policies on regional economic development**. It will seek to understand how businesses, workers, entrepreneurs, institutions, and communities contribute to and experience the region’s economic transformation.

Bringing together **economists, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, writers, social activists, policymakers, and students**, the conference will provide a multidisciplinary platform to examine the economic opportunities, challenges, and structural changes shaping North Chennai.

The intellectual contributions of the conference—including **research papers, economic studies, case studies, and expert panel discussions**—will be curated as part of a series of **four scholarly volumes**, creating a valuable academic record of the economic evolution and development of North Chennai.
