Established in the year 1985, under the T.Thomas Educational Trust, Chevalier, T.Thomas Elizabeth College is a pioneer in self-financing education. It is an exclusive college for women in Perambur – Chennai. The institution believes in empowering women through its holistic education.
The CTTE Trust became a Public Trust in December 2002. Honourable Justice Thiru J. Kanakaraj, Retired Judge, High Court, Madras was appointed by the High Court of Madras as the Chairman of the Trust from 2002. The Trust took charge in 2003 under the Chairmanship of Thiru J. Kanakaraj, Retired Judge, High Court, Madras.
Currently, the Chairman of this prestigious institution is Honourable Justice Thiru. B. Gokuldas, the Managing Trustee & Correspondent is Mr. L. Palamalai, IAS (Retd). The College has completed 38 years of dedicated service in the cause of higher education & has well experienced,committed faculty.

The college was accredited by NAAC with CGPA of 3.04 on four point scale at A grade.
The accreditation is valid for 5 years and re-accreditation will be in 2024.
