Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) is a cornerstone of innovation & creativity for academicians. To spread awareness about IPR among faculty members, a Two Days Online National Faculty Development Program on Sensitisation on Intellectual Property Rights was organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth (CTTE) College for Women, Chennai, on June 10 & 11, 2020, through the online platform Zoom.
Resource person for the online FDP was Advocate Mrs. Beaula Jemima, Vice President & Practice Head, Lean on Me Legal and Corporate Mediator, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Bangalore. Dr. Queency Asha Dhas, IQAC Coordinator, welcomed the gathering.
On the first day of the program, Advocate Mrs. Beaula Jemima gave a brief introduction on History and Concept of Intellectual Property, World IPR, TRIPS Agreement, Importance and Protection of IP, Copyright and registration procedure as well as ICT innovation. On the second day, she discussed Patents & Innovation, Trade Marks, and their implications on trade and commerce, and Cyber law. During Question & Answer session, the resource person clarified the queries of participants, and a feedback link was shared with all the participants.
The event ended with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. J. Jaya Parveen, Asst. Professor (English), CTTE College for Women. 140 participants attended the programme on both the days and received e- certificates.
